with a passion for contributing to sport

Dr. Pegoraro is the Lang Chair in Sport Management in the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics and the Director of the International Institute for Sport Business and Leadership, an industry focused research centre at the University of Guelph. A holder of BA, MBA, and PhD degrees, Ann is an active researcher, who has presented at international conferences and published in in the areas of marketing, communications, digital media, gender equity and sport management.

Ann is sought out as by industry and media alike to provide insight and on emerging issues in sport.  She is a board member of True Sport Foundation and Ontario Soccer and has consulted with sport organizations in Canada and abroad sharing her knowledge and experience.

Ann is passionate about contributing to sport and ensuring equitable access for future generations.

Dive deeper into Dr. Ann Pegoraro's background

She is an experienced leader with a demonstrated history of working with the sport industry. Ann is a strong professional skilled in Applied Research, Partnership Development, Digital Media, Gender Equity, Nonprofit Organizations, and Sport Consumer Behavior.

Dr. Pegoraro's research focuses mainly on sport consumers, marketing and communication, including how different forms of media are used to establish connections with consumers of sport at all levels from amateur to professional.

Dr. Pegoraro’s research has been published in journals such as Sex Roles, Communication and Sport, Business Strategy and the Environment, Journal of Sport Management, and Online Information Review. Her recent work in digital media and innovation is focused on analytics, gender and diversity.
